It is inescapable; one either believes Jesus, or does not. We can't buy into His promise of eternal life with the Father (through Jesus.."He who believes in me ...shall have eternal life." ) and ignore His teachings on the consequences of rejecting Him as God's provision for us. It's not a buffet, or smorgasbord, from which only that which is palatable may be selected. Either one believes the accounts of Jesus' words and actions to be accurate and true, and thereby accepts them (of COURSE with full intellectual honesty, examining and testing all things) or one does not.
To do otherwise is the worst kind of dishonesty..it is lying to oneself for the sake of comfort and convenience. It is not "nice" to think of a place of suffering, so one CHOOSES not to; reality notwithstanding. Sound insane? Good.
I love CS Lewis' characterization of this process,as he put it in The Great Divorce:
"There are only two kinds of people in the end: those who say to God,
'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, in the end, 'THY will
be done.' All that are in Hell chose it."

On another note, in your last post you wrote among other things,
"All plant and animal life is described as being formed whole, complete,
and as unique kinds from the beginning. "

I was watching a special the other day on the History Channel called Monster Quest. In this episode they were searching for a modern living Pterosaur in the jungles of Papua, New Guinea. I was thrilled to hear in the backstory material, a scientist discussing the perplexing lack of transitional forms leading to the Pterosaurs...in his words (as I remember them) .. "they appeared complete; a fully functional creatures, with no (fossilized ) antecedents whatsoever. He found this very puzzling. : )

blessings, Lance

@jimmish - Blessings to you, too, Jim. I really need to take the time to read Lewis. I have a couple of his books, but haven't taken time to actually read them yet.
